PSALM 139:14 “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous-how well I know it!”

I think David was being sarcastic when he wrote that last part of the verse, “How well I know it!”  Like he was agreeing with the fact anything God creates is too marvelous to fully understand!

With that being said, why then do we judge others? Since we can’t truly know them… Now when I say judge someone, I mean LABEL SOMEONE.

” He is a womanizer.”

“She is lazy.”

“They are a ‘special’ kind of family.”

To be bluntly honest…YOU WON’T EVER ” KNOW” SOMEONE…so there is no point in labeling them. God made us His COMPLEX WORKMANSHIP for a reason! If we truly got to know someone, that would mean they would always be the same and never change or else you wouldn’t know them like you thought.  The process of life is change, and growth to become more like Christ,

for Christ,

in Christ.

It is so wonderful that not only do we not “KNOW” ourselves (which is ok because we could easily get bored with ourselves if we really knew who we were) but instead we constantly change as well.  Our identities however don’t change…THEY ARE FOUND IN CHRIST AND HE DOESN’T CHANGE.  Since I am found in Christ, me labeling someone outside HIS identity would be completely inaccurate, because then I am saying that me being in Christ is better than someone else… who actually themselves is found in Christ as well.  Labeling them, would be labeling your-self to.

In the bible Jesus acts on the conflict of Racism in Mark 11:15-17.

15 When they arrived back in Jerusalem, Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people buying and selling animals for sacrifices. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves, 16 and he stopped everyone from using the Temple as a marketplace.[a] 17 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”[b]

You see during this time in the Old Testament, this took place in the ” Court of the Gentiles”.  It was a place dedicated for the Gentiles to Worship God.  The Jews however thought otherwise and decided to make it a place of business. Out of Racism they acted, and Jesus was NOT HAPPY.

Racism is the same method and thought process of ‘LABELING’ someone.  Not right.

Not fair.

& Not what we are called to do.
